wish I was closer...I sure would help. Do you have Hospice folks there that will come in and sit with Val for a bit...some even will stay at night so you can sleep. Here is the states hospice is available for folks with a terminal illness...they send nurses or aides to relieve you for a time. Ask her MD...they should be able to tell you if this is in your area.
I agree with others who tell you to nap when she does...I know that folks here are helping you keep your spirits up and that is why we are here for ya...but know we will be here tomorrow or the next day too...we won't forget you if you stay off here for a day to get some rest.
You can't help her if you get sick, dear man!!
we love you...now shut us off and crawl into bed!!...don't make me go all Nurse Rachett on your a**!!!!

I would say its probably affecting your health right now! If you're too tired, it can affect your judgment (be careful driving) and your decision making abilities. It can have an affect on your metabolism, etc as well. You might want to try going to your local vitamin shop and getting a tryptophan/serotonin supplement or possibly a melatonin supplement to help you actually catch some ZZZZ's

your partner sleeps right?....treat this as if you had a baby....sleep/rest when your partner sleeps...broken sleep is better than no sleep at all even though it doesnt feel like it

you are able to handle a lot more then you'r giving youself credit for! i do remember doing the very same thing, it's hard, but somehow we do what has to be done. remember to at least try to take care of you too. eat right, take cat naps if nothing else. u know, this sometimes continues into a time when you are able to sleep, and still can't. it can carry on long after it should. be careful. please! and take a little time for u. wish i could help. :)

well bud I say you take some stuff to help you fall asleep before you get behind the wheel and kill yourself and others. Sleep is necessary not optional, with out the right amount of sleep you'll throw everything out of whack, with your biological clock and your brain, you can go nuts with too many nights of sleeplessness.

You need to take care of yourself. If you don't what good will you be to Val? You need to try and sleep when she does. I don't know how sick she - and I'm sure I don't know what you're going through but please take care of yourself. You need you're rest and you need to be eating healthy too. If something happens to you is there someone who can care for Val? I hope you can get some rest soon. I'll be thinking about you. Hugs.

how serious is your partners illness? you can ask for help.

Must be rough for you.. but you are going to have to sleep and stay well for her. When she is resting you also need to shut your eyes as well. Stay off this thing too...

I am with you Sweetheart... Genevieve isn't sleeping either. Try and catch some shut eye when Val is napping or else your going to get sick.
It gets to the stage that I am feeling dizzy. She is up again now... Made so much noise she woke her sister up.
Love you, Take Care, Annie.

leon.u new this day was comming, like i said b4 u are wecome to stay w/a while ,when u come to the states,i have sleepless nite to,maybe we can keep each other company, friend my heart goes out to you,b strong and sleep when u can,val would want u to sleep, don't u think<>IS<>

Good advice from all of you friends. Take care of yourself--not selfishly but when you can. Eat healthy foods--back off the coffee maybe so you can take some naps. Sounds like you are just living on coffee and cigarettes. Eat some food--warm food and that will sometimes make you sleepy. Good luck and hugs to you.

hello, well u need your sleep in order for u to function properly & i know it's hard when u have something on your mind so u should buy some ovc sleeping pill to help u cuz u can't continue doing this without sleeping it will affect your daily living if it keeps up so good luck my friend! bb, nobrethequeen

I am sure she must have naps from time to time, see if you can catch a little rest yourself.
After 24 hours, if you are not eating properly yourself you will begin to feel the exhaustion more often.

I am sorry to hear about Val, I read you were caring for her and you seem to be a very decent man.
Your humour must be difficult to maintain at this time, and I hope that some of our answers buck you up a little.

You will drop, but I would get in cat naps as often you can.
I would also try to hire a Nurse for some help, it is very admirable what you are doing and I am sorry this is happening to her, keep in mind what she must be going through and be strong for her.

You are such a sweetheart. That is wonderful that she is able to be at home with you, as hard as it is for you. Can you have someone come in to relieve you for a few hours each day? You cannot stay awake for much longer, can you cat nap? You probably will have to get help sooner or later. I don't know what type of medical care you can receive there, but here they do have people that will help without paying.
