How can I ease my daughters pain after gallbladder surgery?!

Question: She is 14 and it was done laperscopicly.

Answers: She is 14 and it was done laperscopicly.

She needs some pain medicine. If she's already taking something, it's not strong enough for her. Call the Dr. (at anytime, day or night) and ask for something different. It's very possible she is having gas pains ... if she can get up & walk a bit, it may help to ease them. Distraction helps too. Maybe there's something on TV/DVD/Cable that she really would LOVE to watch, but, you never let her before??? I wish her (and you) all the best. She'll be better tomorrow! I hope you sleep well.

Have u tried icepacks or hot water bottles...make one if u dont have one( an empty pepsi bottle will do) fill with water-freeze or fill with hot water.
try magnets on the pain....remember neg. side of magnet on front of body and positive on back of body

It will be painful, but she needs to walk to get rid of the gas pains. When you have a laproscopic surgery, the doctor fills your abdomen up with air. That is painful, and the only way to get rid of it is walk walk walk. The doc should have given you some pain medication, but it won't take it all away. She's going to have to deal with a little pain for a while. The worst thing she can do is lay in bed. Be strong, and make her move, mom. Good luck
