Is my knee sprained, or fractured?!

Question: Here's the story:
In December, I was going downstairs, and I ran into my banister (literally) on a sharp corner, with full force. I fell to the floor, and my knee got purple and started hurting for about 2 weeks. Now, it still hurts quite a bit, and when I bend down, it makes this ruffly sound. It still hurts at least once a day when I'm walking. If I put my hand over both of my knees to compare if they'res a difference, the knee I hit feels a bit moved over. Do you think I should go and see a doctor?
Thank you so much!

If it bothers you then yes. You may have torn ligaments or cartilage, or even torn your knee cap loose. I don't think you broke any bones, but the doctor would x-ray to be sure. Then decide from there if it is worth persuing with MRI or an orthopaedic visit.

i think you should ask your doctor, i think he will be able to figure it out
