Should I call my dr?!

Question: I had a laparoscopic appendectomy last week (tues morning) so that was 9 days ago. Today the glue around my belly button snagged on my shirt, which pulled the glue off. Now my belly button is inflammed, is red and puffy..and is quite painful! Should I call the dr. tomorrow morning? If so..who do I call the surgeon or my family dr? I have appointments with both next week scheduled already....Thanks!

I would call the surgeon first and see what he says. In the meantime you should keep the area clean and if you have any antibacterial ointment, (neosporin or bacitracin) put that on it and cover with a band-aid. Most likely that is what the doctor will suggest anyway. Good luck.

yea i would call, you dont want to wait , incase it gets infected.
better safe than sorry

Just go... It will help you ease the pain...

hm...well it sounds bad but if you do call do they chrage you? with health care as it is..I'd wait till next week..unless it's REALLY bad! in the meantime you should buy some skin lotions or something like that to put on it yeah? and maybe some asprin for the pain...I hope you feel better! and be careful...

try an ice pack first(freeze water in a bottle)
then try neosporin or aloe vera gel
It should heal by itself.

Your surgeon, wouldn't he be your doctor too? The surgeon is the one that knows what he did to you, and he may tell you to come back and let him take a look at it. Call your surgeon...

Good Luck.
