Answers: AND WHY does my back spazz up EVERY SINGLE MORNING?!~

I have found Aleve is pretty good. Excendrin works OK too, but has a lot of caffiene in it. If your problem is usually first thing in the morning you are probably sleeping in a twisted up position, or maybe your mattress is too hard or too soft. If it continues forget OTC, go to the Doc and get a prescription for muscle relaxer - that will releive the spasms.

ibuprofen or aleve

Go and get the highest dose of noproxen you can get. I have 800mg and it works wonders.

Thera-Heat or Therma-Heat or whatever it's called - those pads that you stick to your body, man they work great!
As to why it spazzes, is your mattress old? Are your shoes kinda run down?

tramadol

Hey...lower back pain sucks! Throws your whole body out of whack! If your back is spazzing every single morning, there's a good possibility that your bed is the culprit. You need to make sure that your spine is alligned fairly straight when you are sleeping. Check out mayoclinic.com, "reduce back pain" for some good sleeping tips. If this pain is chronic for you - I would also suggest using heat. Heat loosens up your muscles and releases the tension that's created when they are sore. You'll then be able to move with greater ease. A good way to deliver heat right where you need it, is with heat packs...HOTWEARS.ca has a bodyband that holds hot packs wherever you need them anywhere around your core. (great for cramps too) the beauty of this body band, is you can use it over and over - you could even make your own little reusable hotpacks to put in it. (they tell you how on their site) Lastly, try and only take OTC occassionaly...they are just not very good for you! Really hope this helps!

Like the others said, Aleve. I write to suggest another thing. If the pain is in the small of back area (right at beltline) and you sleep on your back. I have found that rolling up a hand towel into a little "Log" and placing between your back and the bed (as you lie on your back). Place it at your beltline perpendicular to the spine. Make minor adjustments as to higher /lower on back to about one inch higher to one incher lower than your beltline. It helped me ...of course there are so many ways a back can be injured it may not help you, but it's worth a try. ( It should be a "log" about as thick as your wrist.)
