sounds like perhaps you've given your coccyx (tailbone) a bang.....have you fallen on your bum recently? If you have, and you fell on it hard enough, you may have broken it or shifted it so when you sit it puts pressure on it.
If that's what you've done, sometimes a shot of cortisone will help. It happened to me several years ago and I ended up having to have it surgically removed.
Edit: That's possible....you may have fallen in the past and hurt it.....if it's been damaged, it can and does shift, so you may have times when it really hurts and if it shifts it will stop hurting till it shifts again.
