Migraine help, quick?!

Question: My husband keeps suffering from migraines. He WILL NOT go to the doc or anything for meds so he takes over the counter meds like excederin or ibprofen or advil etc. however they are not touching the pain. IS there anything I can get over the counter to help his today? He went to bed early and got up early to take some pills (naproxen sodium or something) and went back to bed and is still sleeping at 8:30am. And this is very unusual for him. He's usuallyl up by 6:30 every morning regardless of having to work or not. I hate seeingh im this way and want to make him better. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Here is what works best for me--I take an Excedrian migraine and get in the bathtub in the hottest water i can stand with an ice bag on my head. A migrain is caused from the blood vessels becoming enlarged in the brain. The heat on the lower part of the body opens the blood vessels in the lower part of the body and the ice contracts the vessels in the head thus correcting the problem. Having the lights off helps too. You should not leave him unattended the first time to see how his body reacts to this treatment. I hope this helps.

It might be his teeth i had the same problem and while at the Doc. he suggested to have my wisdom teeth pulled and i did and never had a problem since.

When i was waching the news the other day, it said massaging migranes can help give relief. I never had migranes, so i dont know if it will work. I would reccoment massages ANYWHERE in the upper body to give more maximum relief. A good store that sells GREAT massage stuff is listed in the sources coullum. GOOD LUCK!!

I too suffer from migraines, sorry no immediate help besides cold compresses, but here is an inexpensive place to check out www.sinusbuster.com they have a migraine nose spray that really works. check out the bio for the guy who started sinusbuster, very interesting. good luck ---also recently where I live a sixteen year old on Christmas day had a migraine--went to bed, never woke up--died. Brain aneurysm. take hubby to doc, make sure this is just a migraine.

I also have migraines a couple of times a year but is mostly due to caffeine. The minute i feel the onset of a migraine i take two aleve which works but not if not taken in time! Another thing i do is massage my neck and bottom of skull area thoroughly everyday and use a massaging shower this is even better! I hope this helps.

I have suffered from migraines too and what I have found that helps is the hot/cold therapy too. What I do is, get in the shower as hot as I can stand it then suddenly turn it cold. Repeat this a few times. Also taking L-Lysine regularly helps keep them away. It is an amino acid that you can buy over the counter with any other vitamins. It also helps to take one while you have the migraine.

I've been told by a person with regular severe migranes that by drinking a 2 liter of mountian dew as the best relief she can get. The sooner she does it the better. I hope he is ok.

If you are in cold country use all warm things.
Pl try cold water bath and observe if in hot country, if pain increases use warm.
If you have cough/cold body hot water bath will help.
Massage is good thing, pl try. Add sun bath and exercise to it if possible.
Pl try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief.
If it fails you will have to go for Acupuncture.

There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache, Ear ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes.
None of them can be treated with medicine.
Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.

Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, tension, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole.

Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.

But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.

If it is acute pl search a painful point (with round tipped pen/jimmy) 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.

It may disappear naturally too.
