Question: It's not mine that's broken, but my friend was at a concert dancing and hit his finger on someone else's face. It got cut on a lip ring and he's not sure if it's broken or jammed. He won't be able to get home until around midnight; is there anything he could do to make sure it doesn't get any worse before then?

just put ice on it, but not directly to the skin, place a towel under an icepack to take the swelling down. I strongly suggest a doctor, because its possible that your friend might just need a splint.
