A question about my poor foot - It really really hurts?!
Question: what happened was I tripped over a bag hubby had left on the bedroom floor. to stop myself falling headlong into my full length mirror i sort of jumped as I tripped. well to cut a long story short I landed full weight (and there's a lot of it) with my left foot on the plug from my hair straighteners. the long prong stuck in my foot a good 1/4 inch and the 2 short ones have made bruises. I would have gone to the hospital last night but I had to take hubby to the airport today so I went to bed instead. now it hurts like ......... (insert word of your choice here).
right, my queston is should I go to casualty tomorrow or just put it up and whinge about it?

Well, i think the pain you are experiencing now is from the bruised muscles. I am sure you cleaned the wound good.
I think you can apply lots of ice on the heel and elevate the foot for today. Take same painkillers and rest today hon..
It will be a good idea to go and have an x-ray done tomorrow just to be sure that you didn't chip the bone in the joint or cracked one in the foot..
It is probably still bleeding inside a little so in order not to get the bruising, restrain from walking around and taking a hot shower/ bath.

Your foot could get infected. See a doctor ASAP.
if there is no swelling it is not broken but with great force (weight) you may have a stress fracture.
I would be getting it checked out and not waiting.

Better get to a+e - probably need a tetanus if the skin was broken and might have fractured sommat (lots of little bones in yer feet). Will a virtual hug and a 'there there, never mind' help in the meantime? (am so not offering to kiss it better!)
Ouch ten times in a row - f**k me i bet that really hurt??? Why couldn't your old man have got a cab to the airport? How on earth did you drive with such a sore foot? Poor thing ain't you? Can you ask a friend or family member to drive you to the nearest A&E, or ER? You really do need medical attention my friend because the prong actually broke the skin of the foot and as the foot on any of us is full of germs etc, you are running a very high risk of infection in the wound site which can travel at an alarming speed up your leg and into your upper body! Yes i am trying to frighten you but these things do happen mate, whose to say you're gonna be the one that gets away with it???? Please ask someone to take you, you're important to so many people, even if your husband doesn't think so! If that had been my girlfriend my flight would have been put back a day!!! Good luck my friend, i hope you get yourself sorted very soon.
