Terrible pain in the soles of my heels. Why is this so? Anyway to reduce the pai!

Question: I have tried massage, ointment, putting up my legs to rest, soaking in hot water and a lot more others. Nothing seems to help. Even after a night of rest, the pain is still there when I step on the heels as I get out of bed.

I understand EXACTLY what you are having. I worked in a nursing home, and was on my feet, LOTS of walking and extra stress on my legs and feet from lifting patients 8 hours a day. I developed tremendous pain and nothing worked to alleve it, and even staying in bed for 8-10 hours did nothing- as soon as I stepped out of bed it was as though someone was stabbing into my heel with a steak knife. I did not have health insurance, and thus could not afford medical attention, but I suspect it was heel spurs. I do have flat feet as well, tho, but I am 33, and was diagnosed with flat feet as a child and NEVER had that happen. I had worked for several years in the nursing home before this problem occured, as well. For the past 2 years I have had a job in which I am NOT on my feet often, and my pain went away within 6 months of leaving the one where I was constantly on my feet. I urge you to go to a doctor to get a correct diagnosis and proper treatment. It could be a torn ligament or plantar faciitis.

You might have the same problem i do... flat feet. its a condition were u foot does not have alot of arch so the muscle in the middle gets alot of stress put on it when its not sapose to.. the best way to solve this is to get arch supports for ur shoes.

are you wearing high heel shoes?

i suggest you get a heatpack and just relax your heel

once i hurt my toe and put all the weight on my heel and i was in extreme pain heatpacks work

You could be gettin very little blood circulation to your legs. Get em checked out.

Could be heel spurs. Also could be the quality of padding in your shoes. Try some ibuprofen for the pain. Also, get to your doctor and insist on x-rays.

hi there! have you put on allot of weight? that can do it, another thing could be back injury, have you been doing any heavy lifting?

Have you had the problem diagnosed? If you find out what is causing the problem then it'll be easier to address. Sounds like it could be plantar fasciitis or something. It's supposed to hurt the most when you put your feet on the floor first thing in the morning. I would check to see what the problem is with a doctor if it's hurting you that badly.

Nothing will work friend, It could be due to the bone marrow. What I mean is the quantity of bone marrow in you is very less, to be in simple. you will get tabs for that, continuous 3 months tabs can remove it for ever, I suffered the same and i was reffered to a neurologist by my ortho surgeon, they took so many xrays, of spine and legs before reaching this decision. and it was correct. its been 18yrs now, never had pain after that 3 months medication. And i know its severe when you wake up from bed. i suffered more than 4 months because no docs could find it out....
