What Rx would I get?!

Question: Ive been diagnosed with a bulging disc, pinched nerve and muscle damage from my chiropractor. I need to get in with a regular doctor so I can get something for the pain. What do they usually prescribe for this? I have no insurance, and I cannot afford to see a pain management dr.

They will most likely start with a low dose steriod such as Presidone. Which will lower the inflammation in the area and reduce pain.

Some anti-inflamatories.

You will probably get Tramal 50's as well.
Depending on your Doctor's preference.
It won't be anything majorily strong.

But the Physio needs to be added to this as well as really helps make a difference.

EDIT: ONLY your Doctor or another Phsyician can prescribe pain killers.
The Physio can't and neither can the Chiro.

see a physiotherapist. The rx will be pain kilers. the physiotherapist will advice exercise or rest as required. go to the local physio now!!!!!!!!!

Only a doctor can write you a Rx. I have a chronic pain issue and here are some links to sites I use often.

http://webmd.com has a tool to help you find a pain clinic in your area.

there are organizations like http://ppa.org that can help you with your medication costs. Also Wal-Mart has hundreds of meds they only charge $4 for.

Here is what I take for my injury daily.
hydrocodone, oxycodone, morphine sulphate, Soma, Neurontin. Elavil, and a few other nerve damage meds. If I didn't have insurance I would be screwed but I have a couple of friends at the pain management clinic that get their meds through ppa and they have no problems.

Also check for pain management clinics in your area. They usually have a payment scale to help you.

Here is a link to a clinical trial database, there may be something in your area that would help you.
