Why do pain medicine get some people sleepy others dont?!
Question: Pain medication has many side effects. They also differ between diffrent types of pain medication. Some people get no side effects, some get one or two & some unlucky people get them all. I was told by my doctor when i got one of the bad side effects from a medication that I was taken that it has to do with your metabolism. Some have the ability to fight side effects, some have the ability not to & some just fight of a few of the side effects. Hope this helps you.

It is called tolerance. A lot of medicine have varied effect on people. Some will have such reactions others won't because of the differences on how their body metabolizes the medicine.
Also, some medicines have a combination ingredient with chemicals that really make you sleepy. Read the drug info leaflet for those type of medicines and look at the adverse effects that the drug can cause. Again some might react to these ingredient with drowsiness or tiredness, while others will not.
