Hi, I had a problem with that last winter and the lip balms are no help because they all have petrolatem in them and that makes them drier..
the doctor gave me a prescription for topical steriod called Nystatin and it helped right away. It was for some sort of a bacteria..
The doc gave me a refill and I needed a few months later.. as the infection returned. Just super dry lips that would not get better.. I also did alot of research online and found that we tend to lick them subcontioustly when they are beginning to get chapped or sore and the licking makes it worse fast.. so try and pay attention to if you are licking or keeping them wet , they need to stay dry to heal up.
Nothing over the counter worked.. I tried it all..
Good Luck

Maybe its from too much friction, give them a rest.

drink alot of fluids

LOL it is a symptom of a bloody cold day and high winds lol. Dont lick your lips lol.

Herpes??

you probably just have chapped lips, its common around this time of year. Some medicated lip balm might just do the trick.

Mine become sore in the cold weather. Use a lip salve it'll help.

Usually we get sore cracked lips during the winter months. Don't use petroleum based lipbalm as it doesn't let your lips breathe. Use one that uses beeswax or vegetable oil. Even use a little bit of honey as it draw moisture from the air.

It can be also a vitamin B deficiency but only if you are not having a healthy diet.

It can be from windburn, sunburn and/or licking them too much. Drink more fluids as your body could be dehydrated. Also, use something like a medicated lip salve like Blistex to help to moisten them up again. Try not to lick them, coz that will make them worse.

I'd be interested in the answer too. I've had chapped lips for several weeks too. I was abroad when it started so cold weather does not apply. i don't have Herpes but I have recently started taking new medication. I've been wondering what caused it too.

depends on which ones you are talking about. pehaps you should lay of the action for a while.
