I learned over the years, between the Army and Medical School, how to do this. Basically, it's awful no matter what but doable.
First, stay hydrated, about 8 fluid ounces of pure water every 2 hours. Second, for every 8 ounces of water, drink 8 ounces of a caffeiene drink, like tea, coffee, coca-cola, etc. Third, you must call it quits with the fluids in the afternoon. Fourth, take aspirin for the headache. Finally, either take some catnaps [20 minutes or so] or go to sleep early the next day.
Have fun, best of luck
You don't. Humans can't survive wihout sleep. Sleep deprivation is used in some countries as torture for a reason. How is your general diet--are you eating late at night? Are you drinking caffeine --sodas, coffee?
To help you sleep, establish a pattern of what you do just before bed.
1. Turn off theTV a halfhour before and don't watch TV in your bedroom
2. Don't drink coffee or caffeinated sodas
3. Eat at least 2-4 hours before sleeping
4. A little --very little-- bit of carbs help you to relax before sleeping.
5. Keep your room dark
6. Don't answer e-mails, return phone calls--issues and concerns linger and can disturb your sleep
7. Scent your room with lavender
