Your throat may be red & irritated. Drink a lot of clear liquids daily, including water. The water will flush out the toxins that are in your body. Try gargling with warm salt water often. Chloroseptic makes a throat spray & throat lozenges that work well on the throat. Keep blowing your nose whenever you feel it needs to be blown, instead of snorting. The more you are able to blow your nose, the better you'll feel because your sinusis are draining. I like to use the little Vick's inhalers when I'm stuffed up. It works well & will allow you to breathe better, & you'll be able to get rid of more when you blow your nose. Cold drinks or ice cream, popsicles, puddings, etc. will make your throat feel better. Also, drinking some warm tea, with a little honey in it will soothe your throat & will make your it feel better too. Make sure you wash your hands right after you blow your nose, so as not to spread germs to others. If your throat begins to hurt to the point that you can barely open it, see your doctor. He/she may give you an antibiotic. Feel better soon.

its strep throat , trust me . i had it like a week ago , you can barely talk right ? jst take a lot of advil and you'lll be fine in less than 5 days .

Sounds like post nasal drip that is causing a sore throat. Get something to clear your sinuses and then some lozenges for your throat. If it was strep you would have spots on the back of your throat and would require antibiotics to get better.

Could be Strep, could be Sinusitis, this can be very painful and you may need antibiotics if it's bad (speaking from experience). Um, do you have green stuff (o-k, mucus) , do your ears hurt even a little?

Yes, I forgot, The menthol, honey candies are great!

See your doctor, for godsakes.

If it's strep, don't just take Advil and hope you'll get better in five days, like one post here says. You need to make sure you kill the strep germs in your system quickly, or you can get something far worse as a complication to the strep. Before antibiotics (in the 1940s and earlier) people got RHEUMATIC FEVER as a complication from untreated step. Rheumatic fever causes heart valve damage, kidney damage, and other problems that can kill you. Many people died as a result of the damage done by Rheumatic fever. We take for granted that we will get well after things like strep throat and don't realize that it's not a guaranteed nor spontaneous occurrence to get over these illnesses. People routinely died from them prior to the 1950s.

Also, if it's steps, THAT IS HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS. You have a moral obligation not to spread dangerous, infectious diseases.

Get to a doctor for godsakes!

Sounds like post-nasal drip, typically accompanied by a cold or allergies. Your sinuses are draining and that's what is causing the back of your throat to be sore and your need to blow your nose often. Depending on where you live, the pollen is in the air and it's likely to be causing your sinuses to become inflammed. An anti-histamine will cause the sinus passages to dry up and alleviate the draining that is occuring in the back of your throat which is causing the soreness.

Until the lab results prove otherwise, you have Strep throat. The bacteria can adapt, so the last time you had it could have been a different strain. Go to the doc; They'll swab your throat, culture it and put you on Amoxicillin. Just make sure you take it until its gone, even if your throat starts to feel better. If you stop halfway through, the bacteria will manipulate again, and you'll have it even worse next time.

Good luck and feel better!
