Sudden bad back pain?!
Question: My boyfriend has sudden bad back ache in the middle to lower of his back, no idea why, he hasn't done anything at all.
It feels as though the muscles have swollen. Any idea what this is? I am not sure tho, compared to my back it feels different, but that's it... advice?

i had similiar back problems, my doctor said it was probably just imflamed muscles and gave me anti-imflammatory pills and he also suggested to excercise and stretch more which did help a bit , it could also be time to buy a new bed.
probably just a muscle spasm from over working or stress.
use Ice to reduce the swelling then heat for any remaing muscle tension.
probably nothing to worry about, just like a charlie horse in your legs, hurts alot but goes away pretty much on it's own.
It could be a herniated disc or pinched nerve though...better to be safe and get it checked out.
