In Pain!? Thoughts please...?!

Question: A couple of days ago I had a stomach bug or ate something funny and threw up all day, the next day I still felt yuck, but better than the day before, today I have sharp stabbing pains in my chest and stomach and back and feel a bit nausious again? I am going to see a doc soon, just wanted to know if anyone has anyideas what could be up with me?

it could be a good number of possibilities ranging from a minor flu bug to something much more serious. I went through those symptoms when i had an appendicitis attack, (which required surgery) and also when i had GERD, Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease) this is where the valve to the stomach don't close properly. with my case 3/4 of my stomach had gone up my esophagus, so the valve could not close at all, and i required surgery to repair that valve and put my stomach back where it belongs. not all cases of GERD are that severe requiring surgery. many times it can be treated with nexium. prevacid, zantac, or some other medication that slows the stomach from making so much acid, and also by diet changes. it is good you are going to the doctor, however if the pain worsens don't hesitate to go to the emergency room to be seen.

There seem to be a lot of viral stomach bug things going around at the moment. I am glad you are going to the doc - hope you feel better soon.

u could take tylanol. take a hot bath. go to a drugstore and find a "full body cleanser supplement" (it gets EVERYTHING out from your system) Hope i helped! oh yah stay away from soft drinks.

I believe u cut a stomach FLU,

Maybe Pepto would help or an antacid.

I would go to a urgent care center or the ER. If you are having sharp shooting pains and feel like throwing up, there could be a problem. Its better to be safe and get it checked out

well i felt just like that when i had to have my appendix taken out
you might have the stomach flu though

but until you go to the doctor, just rest, try not to move around too much

The pain in your chest could be refferred pain, that is pain that is felt someplace other than where it is actually getting irritated. It is good you are seeing your doctor to rule out any serious problems. Depending on how forcefully you vomitted, you could also have muscle pain from the force or could have pulled muscle. If you can stomach it, keep drinking water to keep you hydrated. Hope you are better soon!

well if you had a high temp then i would say a flew or could, but if you don't have a high temp then it might be an allergic reaction or something. i heard something about some meat getting grounded up and making people sick maybe you ate some bad meat or something
best of luck.

it happened to me sweety and its a stomach flu it been around for a while i hope you feel better soon

My best friend and her family had it for about 5 days......I would help them by going to the store and getting what they needed......she would think she was better and the next thing you know she was getting sick again......I hope my family avoids it!!! I would go to the Dr. to be sure that is all that was going on.......Feel better soon!!!
