Why does it still hurt?!

Question: I hit my elbow on the post of my bed (I have a bunk bed) about a month and a half ago. I immediately put ice on it, and later a warm pack, each for a few hours when I did them that night. It hurt really badly for a couple days after that. But since then the nerve still hurts when almost any amount of pressure is put on it. It hurts all the way up into my hand, making half of my hand have a tingling sensation. Any explanations?

HI there, unfortunately, the nerve which is called the ulna nerve can give us tingling and shock like sensations when we bang it, it is not as protected as our other nerves in the body, hence why when we bang our elbow we get the "funny bone" sensation.
This is normal if you poke your elbow or bang it, if you have pain from doing normal things, then you could have bruised it, and need to let it heal, if pain and tenderness continues, the see your gp in a week or two.

You very well could have a pinched nerve, but there is no remedy for that. Pinched nerves you just have to wait out. You also could have fractured your elbow, which would result in all of the symptoms you have explained. I would go and get it checked, just to be safe. Call your doctor or local hospital/urgent care if you are concerned and need immediate help!!!

uh oh... i dont think it fully healed??
thats not good...

my suggestion is go see a doctor and just have it checked out
