I have Strep and need help knowing what to do for it to go away faster?!
Question: Ohh k here i go, im 17 and i have been sick scince monday today is wenesday. My tonsels are swolen and my ears hurt as well. every time i try to swallow, or just my saliva.... it hurts More and more. Also my whole body hurts and for the past few night i cant sleep, because all i do is sweat my **** off. Today i tryed to make an appointment with mt doctor but he i CLOSED wendsdays!! ahh. so i tryed doing an appointment with the PWFD doctor cause im part of it, and they had no openings... so what i did was caled the Anbulace so i can go to NSH. the person who looked at me toiled me i had strep but all i got was Amacacillin.. (how ever u spell it) I tryed to take a nap but i cant cause i have to consently spit in to a water bodly cause ic an swallow cause of the excutiating pain. I was wondering if anyone knew how to Do something to get rid of this faster then it will take because, my b-day is in 5 days and i dont wanan be sick 4 it. Also what should i eat?? cause it hurts alot

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic, and it will take care of the strep infection, you will be feeling better by tomorrow, and a bit better every day. Be sure to take the entire course of antibiotics, don't quit them just because you feel better, or the strep will come back and then it will be resistant to antibiotics and could cause you serious problems.
So, just take the amoxicillin as directed, drink lots of water, and get lots of rest. Popcicles might help to numb the throat until it is better.
if you take your antibiotics like you are supposed to, then you should feel much better in 5 days. try cloraseptic throat spray. or maybe some nyquil, to help you sleep thru the pain.
There are good throat sprays that help a lot and losenges that come with it. Try to have popcicles and cold water. Try to rest if you can. Thats all you can really do. Feel better!

try gargling salt water.
