Please help! Great grandma hit head?!

Question: Today my great grandmap came over and had to use the bathroom, next thing you now, she fell over and smashed her head. There is a nasty bump on her head and it had a bit of blood. She does not remember how she fell and I am worried that it could be some sort of concussion. She has ice on now and keeps closing her eyes and i dont want her to fall asleep....she also says she feels very warm. WHAT SHOULD I DO???? Please help!

Do not let her go to sleep.. If she does she may not wake back up.
She 1000% has a CONCUSSION.

The signs and symptoms of a concussion can be subtle and may not appear immediately. Symptoms can last for days, weeks or longer.

The two most common concussion symptoms are confusion and amnesia. **(SHE CAN'T REMEMBER HOW SHE FELL)The amnesia, which may or may not be preceded by a loss of consciousness, almost always involves the loss of memory of the impact that caused the concussion.

Other immediate signs and symptoms of a concussion may include:

Headache
Dizziness
Ringing in the ears
Nausea or vomiting
Slurred speech
Some symptoms of concussions don't appear until hours or days later. They include:

Mood and cognitive disturbances
Sensitivity to light and noise
Sleep disturbances

While most concussions get better on their own, some blows to the head can cause more serious injuries. You should seek medical advice if you have any of the following symptoms:

Prolonged headache or dizziness
Vision disturbances
Nausea or vomiting
Impaired balance
Prolonged memory loss
Ringing in the ears
Loss of smell or taste

Other warning signs of a potentially serious injury include persistent vomiting, seizures or a large bruise on the scalp. In general, a bruise on the front of the head is less dangerous than one on the side or back of the head.

Even though she says she is ok take her to the ER anyway... Its better to be safe then sorry.

Go to your GP or even hospital depending on how bad it is!

Does the phrase Dial 911 mean anything to you!!!!! Elderly people should be checked out by a doctor.

Take her to the ER or to her MD ASAP. With the elderly its always best to get head injuries checked out!

She really needs to go to the hospital!

GO TO THE HOSPITAL

call 911 immediatly

U need to get her to the hospital right away, she probably has a concussion and could have a head injury... dont wait get her to the doctor now...

She's in trouble. Get off the computer and call the rescue squad
