show your mom this story.
When i was 16 I sprained my ankle and after practically forcing my parents to take me to the dr he said I needed crutches. So she took me to school and I had to borrow the school crutches since she wouldn't buy me a pair. Only problem was school was out in three days. So ever since I have had a weak ankle and I am constantly twisting it. Several years after walking on an ankle that never healed properly I had to have surgery to tighten the ligaments that were overstretched.

Refusing to get you crutches is practically neglect when the dr is saying you need them. Try asking your school nurse if there are some crutches you can use.
Once you feel up to walking on it try getting a laceup ankle brace with figure eight straps. They are much better at support than ace bandages and will give your ankle a little more time to heal.

Ibuprofen ( Motrin or Advil) 200mg twice daily. Your sprained ankle will take a few more days. The ibuprofen will decrease the swelling and stop the pain until then.

Your Mom don't want you to get no crutches?
:)

You dont need crutches, just follow these steps

Steps:

1. Place a cloth around your ankle.
2. Put ice on top of the ankle (with the cloth around it) where the sprain has occured.
3. Hold ice there for no more than 20-25 minutes. If you go over you might cause frostbite.
4. Lay down on a couch or bed and lift the ankle above your chest/heart height and rest.
5. Do this about 4 times a day.
6. Buy a ankle brace/support and wear it when you go to school.
7. Don't run or do any sports for 2 weeks.

defiantly use something for support. but ice on it as much as possible and do not do any running or walking fast for about 3 weeks (depending on how much you sprained it)
