Tylenol 3 is 30Mg's of codeine. Although the Darvocet maybe stronger in Milligrams it is actually very similar to codeine and is a weak opioid. However (approximately 10-20% of the Caucasian population) cannot metabolize it, due to poor functioning of the enzyme CYP2D6. So if you fall in this percentage the drug is useless. Darvocet is structurely similiar to Methadone and Morphine. It's half life is around four hours which means 4 hours after taking a 100mg pill there is still 50mg's in you. If Codienes were in 100 milligram pills it would be just as strong. Darvocet is totally synthetic, codiene is not. One other draw back of the Darvocets is its boatload of tylenol, a 100 mg pill can pack 650mg's.

Darvocet is stronger but it is recommended that you take the least amount of pain med required to alleviate your pain. Too much Darvocet or Tylenol and you can have rebound headaches, which are worse than the original pain.
Darvocet is stronger but will make you really sick to your stomache. Get Oxycodone. I used it after both my knee surgeries and it works the best (believe me; Ive been on every pain med out there)
