Anyone on Adderall?!

Question: about three months ago i was diagonosed with the "onset of adult ADD" by my regular dr. he sent me to a mental health clinic and the dr. there agreed. put me on adderall 10 mg. i took that for two months, and it helped but then it stopped working, but he said i just needed to try a little higher dosage. so he put me on 20mg. i've been taking it for about 3 weeks and some strange things have been happening...not sure if adderall related or not. i have an appt in 4 days but wanna know if any1 else experinced this on adderall or if this could be something else more serious

-rapid heart beat ( not constantly )
-dizzy feeling when i stand up to fast or jump out of bed, i blacked out for a moment this morning walking down stairs after i just got up. it passed very quickly but still......

could this be caused by high blood pressure?? i know thats a side effect of adderall, if so is there anything i can do for it? the adderall has really helped me aside from the above, is this normal??

Regarding the dizzy feeling when you got out of bed quickly, probably not at all related to the Adderall. Actually more likely due to low BP. That can happen to anyone if they change position too fast. The rapid heart rate may be related to the Adderall, but I would let the doctor know. There are lots of other ADD meds you could try, so don't give up yet!

Hi,
sorry but I don't know anything about Adderall, I'm sure that if you type it into a search engine your bound to see loads of results.

...i am in my late 20's and got on adderall xr 3 years ago, i started with 10mg to end up going up to 60mg . This is a very serious drug; very easily abused; and trust me you will feel great by taking it, more energetic, you will loose weight, since its appetite suppressant-but on the other hand you will start loosing yourself- your emotions and feelings are going to feel like they are dying out...if you miss to take the dosage/day you will feel so exhausted all you will think of is SLEEP.

This drug is categorized Schedule II which are drugs with a high abuse risk. These drugs can cause severe psychological or physical dependence. Schedule II drugs include certain narcotic, stimulant, and depressant drugs. Some examples are morphine, cocaine, oxycodone (Percodan?), methylphenidate (Ritalin?),Adderall and dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine?).

The effects of adderall are similar to cocaine, but the onset is slower and the duration is longer. Chronic abuse produces a psychosis that resembles schizophrenia: paranoia, picking at the skin, preoccupation with one's own thoughts, and auditory and visual hallucinations.

I WISH i never would have taken this drug; it changed me and i know that it will be very difficult to get off of it.

My advice is before you continue PLEASE consider researching about how to cure the ADD natural way, which is possible.
I never thought about the consequences, but after i realized what was happening to me it was already a little too late just to quit "cold turkey". If you really care about your health DO NOT continue with this drug.

The rapid heart beat will become more often and dizzy feeling is probably cuz you are not taking enough fluid while taking this drug, because it is drying you out and making you weak.

ADDERALL has been taken off the market in Canada (black box).
