I have experienced pain like this and it turned out that my pain was related to a condition called costochondritis. Costochondritis is an inflammation of the cartilage around the ribcage.

Costochondritis (an example only) could be a possibility for this pain but I would recommend letting your mom know what's going on as well so that she can help you to keep an eye on it, and also your doctor for further evaluation to see what they think.
