Question: i'm in great shape, heal fast and was racing crew and sculling last year. the cartilage is gone and top of the femur has necrosis, bm edema,and collapsing. haven't heard from thesurgeon i was referredto yet so i can't ask him this question. thanks all.

A coworker of mine got his hip replaced a month ago and he's already walking around and in good shape. I think if you get lots of physical therapy and keep working out after wards you should be fine.
my grandpa had a hip replacement and hes still limping, its permant so dont get your hopes up too much
