This is quite simply Percocet. Oxycodone is a high peaking opioid that is synthesized from thebaine, a constient of opium. There is no evidence that Oxycodone is actually stronger than Hydrocodone. A direct quote here; There are no comparative trials showing that oxycodone is more effective than any other opioid.[4] In palliative care, morphine remains the gold standard." END QUOTE. Oxycodone is more intoxicating. If you are pregnant, I will leave this one to a real Doctor to answer. My opinion, he knew this, and the mg's of oxycodone he gave you is probably safe. These things come in 5mg to 10mg for percocet, which it will say generic for percocet on bottle 5/325 the 325 meaning mg's of tylenol. THe 5, milligrams of oxycodone. There are also stronger ones but I doubt he gave you these. Look up oxycodone on wikipedia and it will give you the lowdown on it as far as pregnancy. As far as people saying how powerful it is; like morphine, oxycodone is nothing like morphine. They are all similar in the fact they are opiates but morphine is not as high peaking but however is more efficient at targeting pain receptors and lasts longer. I wouldn't be too scared. Even the 5mg oxycodones can be snapped in half, try it, and don't drive, take one and go to bed.I mean if you are in bad pain. I usually like showing off my knowledge on here, but in your situation ask a RN or Doctor.

a drug

no no no no no. its synthetic morphine. do not take it. The best thing you can do, is bear the pain

opiate analog . similar to diacetyl morphine ( heroin ) .

percocet, i wouldnt take this while pregnant. It's 5 mg oxycodone and 500 mg tylenol. Why not just take Extra Strength Tylenol?

This is suppose to be one of the strongest pain pill on the market. It has codeine in it and I cannot imagine a doctor prescribing it for anything other than the most sever cases of pain. If you are pregnant, it could cause damage to the baby.

It is very addictive and should only be taken with severe pain and nothing else will work. The medical field are getting very strict with doctors writing this medication when there are many others than will help without being as strong.

I have had every kind of dental work and surgery done you can imagine and I have never been given a pain killer that strong. I do not know many doctors that will prescribe it, Unless the run these so-called "pain management clinics." which is just another word for quacks to get people additive to the pain medication so they can make fast and easy bucks.
