My finger's been hurting for about a week?!

Question: Last friday, I clipped my nails (none past the quick) and ever since then, my index has been hurting, right under the nail, sort of to one side. It feels like a hangnail but it isn't. I tried cleaning it with peroxide but that didn't do anything. Is it infected? And what can I do to get rid of it?

I get that sometimes to. It feels like a hang nail but isn't. My whole side of my finger turned purple and it started to seep out liquid stuff and believe me when i say hurt i mean hurt. The only way that i am able to get rid of mine is to soak it in hot water with salt with a little bit of peroxide. All you do is get some warm water put some salt in it with a little peroxide and soak your finger in it for about 5 to 7 min after that put some antibiotic ointment on it and wrap it up with a band aid. Keep repeating it until it is healed up. Good luck..

Sometimes you cut your nails shorter than you tink. your nails have layers, like they flake, it's possible you accidentally cut the nail and the layer that is attached to your nail bed, like a piece of it came off. It hurts, I know, its probably on a nerve but it iwll be fine. I doubt it's infected but if it doesn't go away in another week, I would get it checked out.

did it foam with the peroxide,if so it may be infected, put peroxide every so often durinfg the day,it can,t hurt it.it sounds kind of strange
