When someone gets shot ...?!

Question: When someone is standing up and they get shot, why do they ALWAYS fall down, even if they got shot in the arm or in the stomach? I just watched a film & lots of people got shot whilst they where standing up even if they got shot in the arm, stomach, chest etc etc...

Because it's TV. Mythbusters did a segment on this, having to do with people getting thrown backwards when they're shot. Even using a .50 gun, the dummy didn't move a lot, much less be thrown backwards. If you watch some of the Cops shows where the officer gets shot, they usually DON'T fall down.

When your mind is focused on the immense pain it forgets to tell your legs to stay strong and hold you up.

cos it hurts so bad, or there dead

the force of the bullet will pull anything down..

a bullet travels at very high speeds and no matter where u get hit the force of the bullet will send u to the ground. i bought a pellot gun and my friend took it when i wasnt looking, she had her finger on the triger while she was cocking it and it caused the bullet to come out and she wasnt expecting it. it hit me in the arm, it didnt hurt at all but the force of it sent me to the ground. its the same reason why men fall down when they get kicked in the balls.

It could be the shock, and you just fall over, but also, the force of the bullet could just push you back, and your legs give out!

There is a phenomenal amount of energy which is transferred from the bullet to the body. Not everyone falls like in the movies though...

And when the bullet makes contact and travels through, it is causing trauma to the body in a nano-second of time.... The body then goes into immediate shock...

If the bullet tags a major artery or organ like the heart...they stop working almost imediately...

a bullet travels at very high speeds and when it hits it releases a huge amount of energy into your body ,

this energy destabilize you causing you to fall
and bleed
