What the hell just happened to me?!

Question: I havn't been sleeping much for about the past week, especially the past 3 nights I've gotten just a few hours of sleep. This morning I woke up and rolled over and went back to sleep. I was dreaming. Then my blanket was over my face and I couldn't really breathe easy so it bothered me and I woke up. I couldn't move. I literally could not move my arms! Its like my body was awake but I was still sleeping. I couldn't talk either. It was scary because I couldn't breathe. Then suddenly everything worked kind of all at once and I rolled over and got the blanket off my face.

IT was scary! I know I was awake.

It's called Sleep Paralysis.

It's triggered by not having enough sleep, but it's harmless.
Some people have a chronic case of it, but you just need more sleep. Nothing to worry about.

The leperachus are taking over your body. I highly advise high dosages medication and a shrink. Good luck.

get some sleep before you do yourself some serious damage.

thats happened 2 mee before, its scary, idk what it is.

umm nothing you mustv been paralysed for a moment there... You have been sleeping a lot lately and it seems, your mucles must have not been active. So it happens, when our body is inactive, it fails to regulate the system, These momentarily paralysation is very normal. Dont worry.

Please go see a doctor. You could be having a stroke or perhaps heart problems.

It's called sleep paralysis. It occurs in people with narcolepsy and when sleep is severely disrupted.

You had a dram, I get those sometimes too. My mom says she hears me yelling sometimes. You maybe had a dream about somebody trying to kill. Try to relax before going to bed, and thing about all the positive things.

Sounds like sleep paralysis, i don't know how serious it is but try googling it and make an appointment to see your doctor.

That has happened to me but as I look back I really think I was still dreaming. I do understand that there is a switch in your brain that turns off voluntary muscle movement while you are asleep and I guess that it is possible for it to misfire on occasion.

That happens to everyone. People used to think it was because a witch was sitting on your chest making you unable to move or speak.

In reality it's just as you said. While you sleep your brain paralyses your body, making your breathing automatic. Rarely it can be that you are startled awake and your brain is a bit slow to transfer turn off the paralysis and to switch over the breathing from automatic to voluntary,

It's a scary ordeal but hopefully wont happen very often. It's generally harmless.

you are sleep deprived. i didnt sleep for about 5 days and then apparently i started sleeping with m eyes open, so your body does strange things. just stay calm and allow your body and brain to catch up with each other. im convinced its all due to lack of sleep. you could go to doctors for mild relaxants or sleeping pills.i did and only took 2 and it broke the bad sleeping pattern and im fine now.

thats called sleep paralasis, your half asleep and half awake and so your unabled to move.being in this state sometimes prevents a person from getting hurt should he/she get up while asleep and walk about. i know this sounds crazy but its true.i hope ive at least explained things to you. havea good day.

That is cute, your body took a while to wake up...don't worry about it.

i dont know what it called, its just because you suddnely woke up at the very early stage of sleeping here your brain make kinda like a shut down and doesnt allow movement from the body..bottom line you are fine just get some rest :)

Get some serious sleep and go see a physician,
