I use lollipops when I don't have strep just when my throat hurts. The ones that are like sugar coated are good for my throat when it is sore

Gargling with warm salt water, or using OTC lozenges.

go buy some cough drops, or Vick's vapor spray. no sugar filled candy is not going to help your sore throat it sounds like you pretty young.
