Throat closing over?!

Question: Well, last month my throat felt like it had closed over. I was so scared. It felt as if my throat was clogged and I wasnt getting enough air, I took some benydril, and it went away.
Since that night, my throat has still felt funny. I can breath and everything, but it feels like Im not getting enough air. I feel like the left side of my throat is stressed, because it feels somewhat tighter than the right side of my throat. I can constantly feel muccous at the back of my throat, and its really bothering me. My left nostril often seems clogged more than my right one, and that also bothers me.
I was wondering if I have the flu or something? I've told my mum and she says its all in my head, and Ill be fine... But I think Im having panic attacks because of it. Im really scared.
Can someone please tell me what this may be?
Im trying to convince my mom to take me to the doctor

Since it got better when you took Benadryl (an antihistamine, "diphenhydramine"), you can chalk it up to allergies.

As a father,I can' believe that your mother is blowing you off! I don't know how old you are,but if you can't get help from your mom or dad, then I'd suggest asking a teacher or counselor at your school for help.It sounds like you may be having an allergic reaction to something, especially if Benadryl is helping. Please don't be afraid to get the help you need.Your mom needs to wake up and take you seriously.

This sounds like a life threatening allergic reaction called "anaphylactic shock ". This is nothing to play around with, this is an emergency situation each and every time. You are allergic to something as evidenced by the reaction in your throat, difficulty breathing, stuffy nose, mucous production, etc. Plus the fact that Benedryl, an antihistamine, reversed the symptoms.

If you do not get medical help when this happens, your trachea can collapse and you will die. You need to get to a doctor to find out what you are allergic to. In the meantime, avoid milk and milk products, wheat, eggs, peanuts, and shellfish. Check packages for these ingredients. Keep Benedryl with you at all times.

Show this to your mom.

Take care my friend.
