I can not move my middle finger at all, what has happened?!

Question: Have I pulled a ligament or something? I woke up 4 days ago and it was like this. It gets better when I work my hand, but as soon as I wake up it's back to it's tight, unmoving position. It really hurts too. Anyone gone through this?

It may be "trigger finger" due to inflammation of the sheath surrounding the tendon in your finger. This often gets worse at night and then improves when you move around.

Depending on the severity of your symptoms, treatment involves heat, ice, massage, anti-inflammatories, splinting or surgery to cut the sheath.

the exact same thing happened to me last year..i know how you feel it is very painful. I went to my doctor and he wasn't sure what it was he said it might have been an insect bite...He gave me some medicine(sorry i'm not sure what it was!!) and the next morning it was fine...my advice is to go to your doctor...even if they dont know what it is they can give you medicine to ease the pain!! hope this helped

if it's not a bite like the girl before me said, then you might have bent it as badly as i did a couple of years ago - a basketball bounced off it and yes it did tear a ligament. even worse mine took a chunk of bone with it...ewww....so yes, go to the doctor and either get some antibiotics or get it strapped up depending on what happened.

xstevie

may be you but it on rong place.....better you see doctor

Had the same problem. You can chip a bone and the finger gets kinda stuck. It can be the onset of arthritis. I find playing guitar loosens it up but it never gets "better". Compare your two middle fingers and you'll probs find the "duff" one is thicker in the bottom third.

Go to a doctor and see if it doesn't get better soon.
