I can't sleep at night. Help?!

Question: I am on antidepressants and cholesteral meds. thyroid meds. klonopin which slows my hyper reflexia down. and a high blood pressure pill. I can't sleep some or most nights. my doctor won't prescibe any other meds. I just keep thinking things over and over in my head all night long. I am a receptionist at a hospital and my co-workerrs keep harassing me cause I do extra work for the techs in MRI dept. Does anyone have any advice?

Remember not to overdose.
Before you go to bed sit down on the floor.
Close your eyes, and do some easy exercises.
Whither it be gently stretching your legs, or stretching your arms.
Relax.
Think of something peaceful when in bed and trying to sleep.
Did something good happen today?
Think about that.
Focus on the good things, not the bad.
Remember not to eat anything an hour before bed, and take a small drink of water before, or to bed with you.
Hope you get everything sorted out

You just have to calm down and relax. It's probably the meds that won't let your mind rest, you need to stop taking these or reduce your dosage. You should know all about that if you work in a hospital.I would guess it's the klonopin or something else your taking that's "reving you up"

I suffered a nervous breakdown about 1 year ago and didn't sleep for 10 consecutive nights. As a result, my sleep pattern was jumbled up and I couldn't sleep. I had real trouble with it and it effected me during the day.
After trying various herbal remedies, prescription sleeping tablets, I realised the best way for me to get to sleep was to do a decent bit of excercise during the day (like 20-40 minute fast walk) and also to read a good book in bed. Nowadays, I sleep really well and have no sleeping tablets or herbal remedies.
I also stay away from caffine/chocolates/sugar after 6/7pm. I am british and we are a nation of big 'tea drinkers', so staying away from cups of tea in the evening is not easy, but it should help you to sleep.
Good Luck and I really hope my tips help you. ;-)

Maybe u should learn some ways to overcome your insomnia problem through hypnosis at my profile.
