How to quit smoking??!

Question: It can be done cold turkey. It's the hardest, but in my opinion the most sure fire way. You have to do it cause you want it though. Patches and gums are crutches that never let your brain heal from the addiction. I tried quitting several times - each I thought I was serious. I've had the gums, and the pills, but was able to be totally derailed. When I quit cold turkey, I was just done. I decided to define who I was differently, as being a smoker was part of it in the past. Once that was no longer what I wished to be defined as (and I have nothing against smokers by the way) there it was. Even if I was tempted, or fell a bit by bumming one, that was still it. Never bought another pack, never smoked of my own volition. My wife even is fine with cigars and I'll have one once a year if at most.

Whatever those patches are on TV. And get help.

get nicotine patches

go get that new shot to quit smoking. i hear it works REALLY good.

Try mixing cream of tartar with orange juice 3 times a day. It cleans the nicotine out of your system and pretty soon the thought of a cigarette will make you sick.

put down that cigarette and wait a while then keep waiting and do something else .

I did it cold turkey....8yrs ago. I got my last cigarette, a glass of wine and sat on my patio enjoying every last suck. I was a 15-20 cigarettes a day smoker. I have had the odd one since then I wont lie but its been probably 5yrs since my last one. Dont miss it at all.

The best way to quit smoking is to smoke one cigeratte less each day then you will crave it less

I am so going to sound like a commercial, but Chantix worked for me! I smoked Marlboro Reds for over 20 years and quit using the Chantix!

Chew a lot of those special gum stuff that is supposed to help you quit. But before doing that, cut it low-- if you smoke 5 a day, slowly decrease it to 4, 3, 2, until you finally stop... tell your friends you want to quit, and they will give you support and help every step of the way

Good luck!

I had smoked for 35 years and have now quit. I read the book "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr. It worked for me. It has been 14 months and I still can't believe it !! Good Luck

nicotine gum

Honestly, I think people who smoke just like something that htey can do with their hands, when you are craving smoking, eat some carrots or celery.

I HAD BAD PNEUMONIA. THEY SAID IT WAS FROM SMOKING. I WAS IN INTENSIVE CARE FOR 4 DAYS WITH TUBES TO DRAIN MY LUNGS MY LUNGS WERE 70% FULL OF FLUID THE SAID IT WAS LIKE ORANGE MARMALADE THEY CUT ME OPEN TO SCOOP OUT ALMOST 2 LITERS OF FLUID FROM MY LUNGS NOT A GOOD TIME!!!!! ENJOY YOUR NEXT CIGARETTE YOU MAY END UP LIKE ME

My husband is quitting smoking after trying nicotine patches and Zyban. He's now trying Chantix and is already down to 4 cigarettes a day (from a pack and a half).

Turns out the Chantix pill actually blocks the nicotine from going where it usually goes in your central nervous system (I won't get into the specifics.) You can smoke, but you won't feel the same effects, and it will actually help ease the withdrawal symptoms.

The only drawback is you have to have a prescription from a doctor, but it's definitely worth it.

Good luck...you can do it!!
=)

I used a great technique called EFT. I stopped without having any cravings. It's a very easy to do, free and efficient solution.
