Help to quiet smoking?!

Question: My brother and his girlfriend made a new years resolution to quit smoking and its almost three months into the new year and they are still smoking like a pack or a pack and a half a day. they are young, 22 and 21and its very expensive as i'm sure you all know. and my mom has been smoking since she was very young i think 16 (she is turning 59 in March) she has tried to quit a couple times but it never worked.

i see a lot of advertisements for the patch and a pill and the gum and most recently i saw something called zero smoke or something like that, that you put on your ear. so i was hoping someone could tell me that some kind of product out there will help them. i know that its all expensive but it will pay off if they are able to quit.

my only concern would be that i keep hearing what works for one may not work for another.
so any help here would be grately appreciated!

im trying to quit at the moment after 23 years of smoking. personally im finding patches to be a great help but only if you really want to stop, otherwise it just wont happen.

Just go cold turkey.

When I quit smoking, several years ago, I did it this way:

1). Friday afternoon (after work). Throw out all cigarettes, etc., so you can't get them back.

2). Go to bed.

3). Stay there til Monday morning.

Well it worked for me.

If you have a company called "Laserquit" it is a very effective way to quit. The 3 day treatment in Australia costs $600 and that includes a follow up visit if needed.... and stops all cravings

I used a $60 gadget called Lifesign. Look it up.

Totally depend on chewing gum. Stay away from smokers and get busy in work.

There isn't much you can do directly. You could tell them you've found some ways to do it, if they sincerely want to kick it. First they must set their mind to it. It's not likely to work on a whim. Don't nag them. It's their choice, not yours.

I started smoking the usual way, under peer pressure, at fourteen. By eighteen I'd had enough, but I was hooked. Ten years later, after the third try, I was finally off. What I did was finish my last at night and not smoke from the next morning. I chewed sugarless gum to relieve the tight jaw sensation. After five years of that, I weaned off the gum.

I've been off tobacco over thirty years but there's still a small risk around cigars. I want one every time I smell the smoke. Cigarette smoke doesn't do that, but I couldn't drag on any of it, even a little, without starting to fall back in.

just stop. you will feel nervous and irritable. for a few days. but you will sleep better.your sense of smell will be come better. after a month you will feel fantastic. also your bank balance will increase considerably. but try and do some sport in the meantime to keep you occupied. good luck.

I used a great technique called EFT. I stopped without having any cravings. It's a very easy to do, free and efficient solution.

Perhaps they could investigate the nicorette activestop program in a web search for "nicorette activestop".
