Just to be safe, have Mom take you to Dr. for a strep test.
If test is negative, she can give you ibuprofen (ie., Advil or Motrin) for the sore throat. If test is positive, Dr. will give you antibiotics and you should start to feel better in a day or two.

To ease the pain, you can gargle with warm salty water or with warm water with honey dissolved in it. The salty water tastes absolutely terrible, but does ease the pain well. The honeyed water tastes great, but it takes more applications to really start to feel better.

First I would see a doctor. but until then try gargling with warm salt water. it helps

get a glass of warm water, put some salt i the water stir it and repeat this a few times a day,it will help your throat ,i would have your mother take you to the doctors because i think you may have tonsilitis.

If you have any cloraseptic spray, spray your throat real well with it. If not do as the others have said, gargle with warm salt water. Are you running fever? If you are, you can take asprin and Tylenol every 2 hrs, take Tylenol two hrs later take the asprin then 2 hrs later take the Tylenol, you get it.... one works on the fever one works on inflammation, both work on aches & pains. You could have strep, very contagious so be careful & thoughtful of others. Drink pleny of water. You can suck on hard candy or throat lozengers in you have them.
If not any better by tomorrow afternoon, may have to go get some test run to see if it is strep.
Hope you feel better soon
