It's a bit like a button with a note saying """" DO NOT PRESS """"....... But can't resist................ POP !!!

no, they can become infected.

Nope!
But if you do have to pop them use Iodine - it help clean it and toughens up the skin

Blisters are part of the healing process. Leave them to go down on their own.

I always pop them but never tear the skin off them... I usually pop them then immerse in cold water and dab dry, put talc on to dry it up and try to keep uncovered for as long as possible!

People constantly tell me to stick a pin in them and drain them (bleah) but, I just let mine go. 1) They usually heal faster for me. and 2) Popping them is so nasty, plus the pain scares me to death. I would just let it go. Glad your shoes rock, tho!

no dont pop it put ice on it

no i don't ever pop mine the juice heals them faster or so i have herd

It's fine to do so. Get a needle and let the junk ooze out. As long as you treat it and just don't leave it open, I recommend you get compeed. it's a type of plaster that acts as a skin and once it has healed it'll naturaly fall off.

nope.. the liquid and bubble protects the new, raw skin underneath it.. popping it just allows things to touch the new skin so it is prone to infection.. saying that though i find them irresistible to pop! i have two on my feet at the minute =( !! Xx

No you are not meant to pop blisters, leave them alone they are there to cushion the area and prevent infection.

no u really shouldnt. yeah it is sickly looking but the body will absorb the fluid and then the other skin can come off more safely with less chance of infection.

Yes, you need to take a needle and carefully lance it a few time and let the liquid inside drain out, otherwise it will become infected and take a lot longer to heal. Don't peel off the skin over the blister until the underneath skin has dried out and become ready for the outer skin to fall off by itself..then you can help it come off but be carefull not to tear the skin to far away from the site, finger nail clippers help cut the tough skin wonderfully. It will sting, this is because your exposing the meat inside the "bubble" to the air and water. it will go away in a few days.

The liquid inside the blister is puss and is in reality an infection by itself...it does not "protect" the body in fact it hurts it.

So a lot of people think no..don't pop them... I tell you what, you can do what you want but I have been a Corpsman for 8 years and I have the experience and training to tell you the truth. it really astounds me how...ignorant people can be. THE STUFF INSIDE THE BLISTER IS POISON.. It is not suppose to be there...if you leave a blister alone and continue to do te things that caused it...you're only going to make it worse. The bubble from the blister is in a sense second degree burns. and the first thing they do for second degree burns is to pop the blisters and drain the excess liquid out to promote healing.....

One thing I will add is to the people who say "don't pop the blisters" I believe you're thinking of blood blisters...these are a lot different than normal puss filled blisters and yes, it is better to not pop them. Blood blisters come form infections or from force trauma that extends below the subcuntaneous level..thus the reason it fills with blood. The reason you don't pop the blood blisters is the chance that something foreign could be introduced into the blood stream since this would be infact an open cut. You also shouldn't pop fever blisters (blisters cuased by an illness). they are all called blisters, but in a sense blood blisters and fever blisters are completely different.

Your not supposed to pop blisters because you can run the risk of infection.

no but continue

do what u want , they are your blisters

Pretty shoes may tie your outfit together but they sure do make your feet sore! Honestly you're are nto suppose to pop them, but if you are busy like i am, i don't have time for the pain or soreness of blisters. So if you aren't that busy, leave them alone. If you are, pop them, squueze all of the excess waste out (make sure you do or the blister will reappear after time) and then cover it with neosporin (bought at drug stores) and apply bandaids as needed. SecondSkin is also great, or a the liquid bandaid stuff. Stick to wearing comfortable shoes, such as sneakers or openback shoes if the blisters are on your heel. If they are on your toes, then still wear comfy shoes. Don't wear socks at home, let the air help them and don't wear socks to bed for the next 4 or 5 days. Also the next time you see a cute pair of shoes, buy the next 1/2 size up, this will prevent blistering. Also for the next time you wear these shoes, apply something like neosporin to your feet before you wear them and the blisters won't reappear.
Good Luck!

do not pop!!!

the liquid inside is a way of they body to heal the sore spot under the skin :)

it might really be a pain but dont worry about it, put it out of your mind :)

no, i don't think so!.. rather let the blisters heal by themselves... wear plasters if needed

Why not put your feet in a warm bowl of water? Got some lavender oil as that would be could for your feet as well. I use Lavender Oil for about everything and it helps with the healing process.

The official advice on this one seems to have changed over the years. Personally I apply my own logic. If you can leave the blister alone without it driving you insane, do.

If it's really bothering you, pop it, but be very careful. Use a sterilised needle and put it flat against the skin so that it goes in sideways, so that it will go into the raised part of the blister without risk of it going into the damaged skin if you press too hard. Keep it clean, and leave the raised skin intact.

As it's on your foot, you may find it easier to put a plaster over it during the day, but you can leave it open overnight, and this will dry it out, which I find makes it less painful.

blisters are natures bandaide. i would keep it covered and let it pop on it's own. i didn't have that happen but, i did have 1st and 2nd degree burns on my arm and they blistered. i would put neosporin on it and then keep it covered with a bandaide. it'll eventually pop on its own and then keep it covered till it heals. you don't want to get it infected.

its not a good idea to pop a blister as the bubble keeps out infection.
