How to deal with this injury?!

Question: I was in a car accident last week it was a hit and run. Someone hit me from behind at about 50-55mph and then sped away. A few days later i went to the doctor because my neck and my back were bothering me. He said I have whiplash and to take it easy and get some rest. But it seems like everyday this pain gets worse and worse...its moved from my neck to my lower back with a constant aching thats driving me insane. I have taken motrin frequently but thats the strongest pain medication i have. Any suggestions on how to sleep/lay down? The pain is so bad i cant even sleep and ive tried everything.

I would go back to the doc. You dont want something to be wrong with your back that they didnt see... might get worse than it is now. Go back to the doc, and have them do some x-rays, cat scans, mris, etc.

I dont know how you feel at the moment, but if its excruciating, you might want to have a friend take you (and lots of pillows) to the emergency room. Back injuries are nothing to play with.

Have you tried soaking in a tub. Floating weightless might help, so a big tube or a warm pool/hot tub might help.

As far as laying down just get as comfy as you can, if that means sleeping in a chair or on the coach or on an air mattress then go for it.

GO TO THE ER. NOW. Sometimes it is hard to properly diagnose spinal injuries until symptoms progress. At the very least, they can get the pain under better control with narcotics and NSAID's.

You need a good Chiropractor!

Usually the Chiro says to put a cold pack on it for pain.

You need to get help right away. That neck and back are not getting any better at all.

Its normal to feel worse for the first 5 days or so

You have not tried everything. After you read and apply http://www.helium.com/tm/148271 you will have done everything.
