Does vitamin E help stop sunburn?!

Question: i am going on holiday to jamaica in a few weeks and i want to get a tan but get sunburn easily someone told me that taking vitamin E before i go on holiday will stop me burning is it true?

and is there any other ways i can help stop sunburn without resorting to factor 40 sun lotion?

No the storage and taking of vit E will not stop sunburn ( a radiation burn to the epidermis layer underneath the dermis layer of skin), it does help with the healing process and can help maintain healthy skin under the burn.

It doesn't stop it, but it will help heal it.
