What was your experience like with the nicotine patch? Did it help you?!

Question: I started the patch this morning. I have tried to quit cold turkey several times and that did not work for me at all. Did the patches help anyone? What is their success rate? Did you still have cravings? thanks

Yeah, that's how I quit my pack and a half per day habit. I've been off the smokes for two and a half years. The patch helped, but I still had to want to quit. Everyone knows they SHOULD quit, but not everyone WANTS TO quit.
It does cause some side effects. Localized discomfort and redness. My biggest one was whacked out dreams. Not scary, just really vivid and lifelike, and bizarre.
Man, I did see how much time I wasted. I finished my work all kinds of early. I always felt like I just had one!

I tried the patch a few years ago. I applied it to my upper arm and it fell off after a couple of hours.
You may want to try a lozenge. I hear they work quite well.

I have tried it all. As for the patch, Did it for a week, had one pissy day, drove to convience store bought a pack, ripped the patch off and that was all she wrote for the patch. Basically it did nothing.
I have also tried the inhaler, Zyban, cold turkey and the gum. Out of everything, the Zyban came the closest to working until I broke out into hives everywhere and had to stop taking it.
I have heard really good things about this new medicine out there Chantix. I think that is the direction I am going this time after I talk to the doctor. I am so ready to quit!!!

it works for a great majority of ppl. how much do u want it to work? if u really want to quit, it will work.

anything u can do to stop smoking will be beneficial to u and everyone around u.
