Have you considered going to a chiropractor? It works!

If you don't have serious back problems (herniated disk, fracture, nerve damage), then - Exercise WORKS! Once you strengthen your core and your back muscles, you will not have nearly as much pain, if none at all.

It will also help you if you review this website to teach you how to take care of your back and prevent injury http://www.free-training.com/osha/back/b...

i have tried everything from t.e.n.s. machine to all pain killers, i on morpine for cancer and that does,nt help back pain

Use ice packs(or a bag of frozen peas). Use them 20 minutes on and 20 off. It will help reduce any swelling. Alternate with a heating pad to relax the muscles and prevent spasms. Ibuprofen is the best to reduce swelling too. If you sleep on your side, place a pillow between your knees. This will help align the back and take pressure off the spine. If this continues, please see your dr.

You may have sciatica which may have been wrongly diagnosed as back pain. You should see a doctor to rule out the possibility that you are treating the wrong symptoms.

Sciatica is the inflammation of the sciatic nerve which passes through a bone in the lower back. The inflammation causes the nerve to rub against the bone causing excruciating pain, therefore anti-inflammatory tablets are required in order to treat it effectively.

Visit your GP to put your mind at rest.

rest, physical therapy, accupuncture and
also exercise . esp ones that strengthen your back
then the last one and should be after trying everything else
surgery and forgot there are epidural injecions

If the wound is not too severe, Light stretching may help. Include reverse stretches too. If it is severe, put this off until later.

If the wound is recent, ice packs with a towel between the pack and your skin helps for the 1st 24 to 48 hours.

After that, alternating with moist heat will also help.

Sometimes a muscle relaxant also helps but you will need a script from your doctor.

If you can find a good chiropractor, they also help.

The best cure is to learn about body mechanics, proper lifting techniques and or using a buddy to help share the load.

Go to a physio.
I tried chiro and it didn;t work for me. That being said i know it has worked for other people i know.
I have a chronic shoulder/back problem and go to physio when it is particularly troublesome.
Massage is also quite beneficial for back pain.

I also use a chinese embrocation called Wood-lock which is excellent for pain control.

try a tens machine, or heat therapy
