Yes it does. It enhances certain drugs and it can potentially be fatal because your body will be getting too much of the medication, or think it is meaning that the potency is stronger than it should be. Some medications are meant to be slow releasing and the grapefruit doesn't allow that. If you're on medications they will have a label stating that you can't have grapefruit of any kind. I'm on some medication that says that and I asked the pharmacist why and well what I shared is why!

Grapefruit may interact with some drugs for cholesterol, blood pressure, heart rhythm, depression, anxiety, HIV, immunosuppression, allergies, impotence, and seizures. Grapefruit contains natural chemicals called furanocoumarins that may explain the interaction.
