My lips are badly chapped!!?!

Question: So for like 6 weeks now my lips have been pretty badly chapped, mostly my upper lip. I have been using stuff on them constantly and then last week my bottom lip broke out with tiny little bumps all along my lip line. They didn't hurt or anything, I just figured I had a reaction to one of the lip balms I had been using. They only lasted a few days and are pretty much gone now.

I have tried Vaseline lip gel, Vaseline lip therapy, Carmex, Blistex, chapstick, Aquafina lip oil, Softlips, Burt's Bee lip balm... everything! And nothing is helping. I have to reapply stuff every 20 minutes cause my lips are soaking stuff up so fast. I will try drinking more water but in the meantime, does anyone know of anything that will really help to soothe my lips??

Neosporine lip treatment is great!! Also does wonders in soothing cold sores

go to www.rockymountainsaop.com and check out their lip butters! OMG THEY ARE FABULOUS!!!!

another thing is applying aloe vera paste (like the gel right from the plant) directly to the lips. don't go buy it, buy a plant instead and us that. you can crack off a steam and use the paste, and the plant will continue to grow....

i put vick's vaporub (vaseline + menthol) on my lips before bed, and any time i wake up in the night. you might try this, and also let it soak in a bit then gently rub your lips to get dead skin off. the dead skin is attached to healthy flesh, so when it gets snagged on something it tears at it. be sure you are gentle enough not to tear it. NEVER attempt to peal the dead skin off. cut it carefully with finger nail clippers if you need to get rid of it.

oh, and don't chew gum while they heal.

I think that if you go and see your doctor, he could give you some medicated stuff to help you heal faster.

Try hydrocortisone gel. put a thin layer on a few times a day, best to sleep with it on.
