How do you treat a burn on a dogs foot?!


Question: after emptying wood burner, dog started walking in the hot embers....he didn't cry at first (2 days ago) but now he IS crying and holding his foot up.

its got to be cleaned and treated with antibiotic if its infected. it should be wrapped and kept as clean / moist with burn cream but wrapped. ChNGE IT OFTEN . If you can afford to take him to a vet do so if it gets worse and he seems to be in bad pain. Dogs can have a st johns childrens asprin but not too much Id at least consult a vet.

i would take him to a vet. burns are one of the most painful types of wound... and just the fact that it's on his foot... i know burns are prone to infection but on the foot... i'm sure that's got to make it so much more susceptible. most likely they'll probably want to give him some type of antiobiotic. but alas, definetly take him to a vet.

I would consult a vet. Ther eare many salves, do not know if your dog is a licker. But maybe a salve and wrao the foot
