If you were in hospital recently, what is your opinion of the nursing care you r!

Question: I wasn't hospitalized, but my mother was. I'm still drafting a scathing letter in my head to the hospital administrator. I live in the Washington DC area, where, presumably, the services are beyond compare.

She was admitted for 3 weeks...I had been told by the attending physician (who was one of 3 out of 4 who did NOT have English as a first language) that she had a stroke. A week later, the neurologist informed me that she had not.

The communications between the staff was NON-EXISTANT! I was so frustrated I spent nearly 24/7 at the hospital just to ensure my mother got the care she required. I finally got her home where I could attend to her better than at the hospital...she recovered remarkably.

To me, the biggest issue is "language and communication" on ALL ACCOUNTS!!! I only know God help you if you really need to be admitted!

My nursing care was remarkable. They treated me and my guests as if we were their only patients.

I had a fall from about 15 feet, suffered broken (fragmented) bone, and was pretty shaken in general. I was taken to the local NHS hospital's A&E where, within 4 hours I had an op to repair the bone.
In all I was in hospital for only three days, but I had the best
treatment one could imagine, the surgeon, doctors and nursing staff, all absolutely fantastic !! I wouldn't want to repeat the experience of course, but I for one have utter and
complete confidence in our local hospital.
Even the food was pretty good !!

UK
I have been in 2 different hospitals
In one the nurses were absolutely superb and highly professional
In the other they need lessons in professionalism

It was ok, but just ok. Nurses did what they needed, faked a smile once in a bit, and went home. Not very kind, but they were trying.

I don't know it depends on whether the NHS or Private health care officials were as you say ..... "blind" :p

haha haha haha
