How many days do I not have to BM to be officially constipated?!
Question: I noticed that I'm not going every day and sometimes not every other day either.
Answers: I noticed that I'm not going every day and sometimes not every other day either.
When I worked in a nursing home, they would say three days.
It depends on what's normal for you. Some people go 3 times a day, and some only 3 times a week. Are you having a hard time passing stools? If you're having to strain, then it may be constipation. If you pass stools easily, then you're not.
I had food poisoning last week was married to the toilet from 9am Wednesday to noon Thursday, not nice! Since then I have not had a BM, so does that mean I am constipated?
Constipation does not mean having a BM, constipation means you want to have a BM, but while it is waiting and you know it is waiting the stool does not come out no matter how hard you strain, push. After my clean out, I was wondering 'where' it all came from, I doubt I will have a BM for seven days. I am just hoping when it happens, it comes naturally and I am not in pain straining. Best of Luck
