Question: i got an infection from having teeth pulled, and yesterdays does made a big difference, i'm wondering if i can double up on todays dose? the doc currently has me taking 4 500mgs per day.

Take the prescribed dose only, with antibiotics the system can only utilize a certain amount and excess is simply thrown off so in other words any excess would actually be wasted.
You're near the max dosage already. Antibiotics usually take 7-10 to work all the way. Just give it time and finish out the doses as prescribed.
No, you need to run the whole couse and doubling up will mean you finish the cousre too early. You need to stick with the plan!
