Once you are tolerant, you can take large amounts of oxycodone and not overdose. Overdoses usually occur when someone is not opiate-tolerant OR from mixing with other drugs or alcohol.

You will not overdose, however, you will have horrible withdraw symptoms if and when you stop. Taking something EVERY DAY is not good and you know it will lead to a nasty withdraw. Why did you start in the first place???

I am a chronic pain patient (I have a severe herniated disc in my lower back) and I am prescribed Vicoprofen. These are not strong enough for my pain most days so I do buy percocets on the side. However, this is only when I am working my part-time night job which is waiting tables and I cannot bear to lift those heavy trays. On days when I am only working my day job (office work) or when I have off completely, I take a break from the pain killers. This not only lowers my tolerance for the next time I have to work or am in severe pain, but it prevents full-fledged addiction.

You should really be more careful and this is coming from someone who knows what they're talking about (not just some 'say no to drugs, mkay' or 'only take drugs as prescribed' A-h0les).

Best of luck to you!!!

Why???? If you are in REAL pain and need them, stay on a schedule to use them. Otherwise they will lose there benefit.

If you don't need them, you are just dumb.

You should not be taking them unless you are under Dr.'s orders to be doing so. If you truly think you are addicted and would like help, you need to seek that out. And although you may not die as of yet, the more addicted you become the higher your chances are of death. I will tell you this, there have been several people that I am aware of that have died from this drug, so keep in mind, that it is possible when used incorrectly. Best of luck and take care.

you sound like a drug addict. that's illegal and very hazardous. you are crazy it sounds like. STOP NOW.

Unfortunately you have a serious addiction, and need professional help! Oxycontin very similar to heroin, one of the most addictive and destructive drugs out there. Absolutely you could overdose, or damage yourself by mixing drugs. Please get help as soon as possible, this is very serious and should not be put off any longer. You can call your family doctor or the distress centre in your area, or ask a friend or family member to help you seek the appropriate treatment.

first don't listen to the people who are putting you down like your a drug addict or you are evil to hell with them they don't know when you chew you release all the meds into your system all at once they were meant to be time released over 12 hours what you should do is stop for one day then go back on them the next day if your in pain you need them so take a few days off then go back on them you will weaken the effect of the meds if you take so many so often so you could od with out even knowing you are plus taking that much will screw your mind up you will think things that are not real and hear things that are not said ect so you need to cut down now or you will die booze will only intensify the the effects of the drug so please try to stop on your own if you can't go to rehab and kick for a week you will soon loose the longing to do them I to was on oxy and I liked them it took the pain away but they are bad for you in the long run they are for short tearm use only or if you are dying take as many as you want.

Here is a link to an article I wrote. PLEASE READ! It will save us both a lot of time. Again please READ! and e-mail me for any further questions.

you should NEVER chew them....you should only take them as directed by a dr and what you are doing can be fatal....this is dangerous...if ur pain is not controlled by your prescribed medications you need to speak with your dr....
you are the reason why people in REAL pain with REAL illnesses have such ahard time getting the meds they need.

reading your question I immediatly dismiss it thinking you've got to be messin.

If your not you are in a bad spot. You can handle an amazing amount of oxycodone. But that is a bad thing.

You need to taper off now.start by not chewing them. then in a week star coming down two pills a day each week until your off.
I had an aquaintance that stopped cold...

He did it the other way...

instead of tapering off he decided he could take a couple more...

He handeled them find, he just forgot to breath.

He had a nice funeral though.

Good Luck
