My left knee is killing me...?!

Question: A week ago, I woke up with my knee really sore and throbbing. It has gotten worse over the last week and I can't bend it more than 30 degrees. It's a little swollen and today I can barely walk on it. I am generally healthy otherwise and I'm 28. Has anybody got any ideas what this is cause I really don't want to go to the doctor.

Get to the GP, you may be making the damage worse by continuing to use the leg. If you have serious damage you may need corrective surgery and while you're overusing your other leg you'll be putting excessive weight onto your other joints.
You may have damaged cartilage or ligaments and must get it seen to - the result of neglect could be arthritis in later years.
So, get to the doctors, they don't bite. In the meantime use pain killers and ice packs, there's little point in putting a hotpad on an inflammation!

i had the same problem , if you live in the uk use an item called deepheat or deepfreeze they act as a painreliver and should heal it fast , it may also be an infection , hope that helped

Go to the doctor. Could be cellulitis at worst, but im not there to look at it.

Did you bang your knee? Is it burning? In all honesty it could be a number of things. You might have a bit of arthritis and for whatever reason it has flared up. Or it may be that you have a bit of loose cartilage that has caused the problem. The only way to know is to go to the doctors and they might send you for an x-ray. There is no point sitting in pain and it probably wont be anything serious.

Yup, doctor's first. Then if it's not some form of infection, ask for a referral to a physio, or go and see a private one. It's amazing what they can achieve in a short time with ultrasound etc. Stop being a baby and get it sorted!!!

Hi, if you don't know the reason why your knee is aching, go see a doctor first. You can use African Potato Cream after your diagnosis for relief and to ease the pain. When swelling is visible it is usually a sign of inflammation from an injury. Get it fixed as soon as possible, you could end up with a back problem as well.

WRAP WITH AN ACE WRAP WHILE YOU ARE UP STAY OFF AS MUCH AS YOU CAN PUT ICE ON 20 MIN ON 20 MIN OFF AND STAY OFF IT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN ELEVATE IT WHEN YOU CAN
