Health Insurance has a variety of deductibles. Yes the deductibles are going up to keep premium costs low.

just for fun get an insurance quote and notice the difference in price between the $500, $1000, $1500, $2000, and $5000 deductible plans.

What you'll find is that a $500 deductible plan costs at least 3 times as much as a $2000 deductible plan.
